Personality:
Eddie: He's a reporter, and has a passion for getting the dirt on important issues. He seems to be a good judge of character and to genuinely care about his fellow humans. In particular, Eddie likes being the voice for the under dogs of society or people who aren't able to speak up or stand up for themselves. He doesn't let the law or protocol, or even the risk of personal relationships, stand in the way of what he sees as doing the right thing to get that voice heard. Part of that means that Eddie isn't above using and manipulating people, and judging them for not acting/behaving as he himself would.
So far as inter-personal relationships go, besides being willing to let down or manipulate people, he tries to be thoughtful and kind to other people. It's worth mentioning that in the movie, some of that thoughtfulness is only acted upon or shown once Venom urges him to act on them. In my interpretation of this, Venom has learned the morals that Eddie wishes to portray but fails to act on, and he encourages his host to be more true to those morals. I don't think that Venom actually cares on his own behalf but rather on Eddie's.
Venom: He's an alien from some other world, it's not explicitly stated where from in the movie. Despite this he manages to grasp human social queues quickly and especially human humor. Venom seems to enjoy giving people (especially Eddie) a hard time, and while he knows he's a superior race in almost every way, doesn't mind helping Eddie in helping other people. How he goes about this is morally questionable, and that's his biggest difference from his host.
Venom understands sarcasm and wit, and he also understands what his host feels and thinks about things and people. It's interesting to watch how Venom protects Eddie not only from outside forces of what's going on in the plot, but also encourages and guides his host as I mentioned before.
Weaknesses/Temptations:
Eddie: He's a pretty good person, so tempting him with anything major would normally be difficult. Relatively minor sins, such as drinking, would tempt him. What's going to tempt him is his inability to control Venom at times who has far fewer inhibitions. I'd say a weakness of Eddie, as described above, is his need to be something of a hero and to hurt people he cares about in order to get something else achieved that he deems important.
Venom: Venom doesn't have the same moral compass as his host. The symbiote has no compunctions about biting people's heads off, literally. He's also very easily tempted into violence, destruction, and general mayhem. While Eddie is his host, Venom can take over control of him at any time and indulge in all kind of sin if he wants to.
Sins:
Eddie: Lying, manipulation, selfishness.
Venom: Murder, dismemberment, wanton destruction of other's property.
Powers/Abilities:
Eddie: None, he's a normal guy... all his abilities come from his symbiote.
Venom: Super human speed, strength, agility. Venom can morph his and Eddie's bodies at will, creating weapons, many appendages, shielding -- basically any shape or item he needs, he can transform into. Venom also has the ability to completely heal Eddie of physical wounds, almost instantaneously.
